Compliance & Safety Policy
Last updated: November 2025
At Yule Works, safety, compliance, and responsible operations are at the core of everything we do. As a family-founded business with over 20 years of hands-on experience in quarrying, crushing, screening, and material supply, we are committed to delivering high-quality services that meet the expectations of our clients, our team, and the regulatory environment we work in.
This policy outlines our approach to maintaining safe operations and ensuring consistent compliance across all projects.
1. Our Commitment to Compliance
Yule Works is committed to meeting or exceeding all applicable laws, standards, and industry requirements governing quarrying, crushing, transport, and material production in Western Australia.
We ensure that:
All works follow relevant WHS and environmental legislation
Operators hold the required licences, qualifications, and competencies
Statutory positions are filled by appropriately trained and certified personnel
Documentation, reporting, and record-keeping meet client and regulatory obligations
Plant, equipment, and fleet are maintained to a high operational and safety standard
Our team includes a certified Quarry Manager (QM Ticket), Statutory Supervisors, SSE-qualified personnel, and in-house heavy diesel mechanics, ensuring compliance is upheld across all aspects of our work.
2. Our Commitment to Safety
We believe that every person has the right to a safe workplace.
We are committed to:
Providing a safe environment for employees, contractors, visitors, and the community
Identifying and controlling hazards through ongoing risk assessment
Maintaining all plant and equipment to minimise the risk of failure or injury
Ensuring all workers are trained, competent, and supported
Promoting a culture of accountability, communication, and proactive safety behaviour
Reporting, investigating, and learning from incidents or near misses
Safety is not a box-ticking exercise for us — it’s a responsibility we take personally as a small, hands-on team.
3. Responsibilities
Management will:
Provide safe systems of work and necessary resources
Ensure regulatory and client requirements are met
Lead by example through safe and compliant decision-making
Supervisors will:
Implement safe work procedures
Monitor compliance, performance, and site conditions
Communicate clearly with workers and clients
Employees and contractors must:
Follow safety procedures and instructions
Report hazards, incidents, or concerns immediately
Operate machinery and equipment only when trained and authorised
4. Working With Others
Yule Works values strong local partnerships. We work closely with:
Owner-operators
Small local businesses
Transport companies

All subcontractors and partners are expected to uphold the same standards of safety and compliance that we require of ourselves.
5. Continuous Improvement
We continuously review and improve our compliance and safety processes to align with:
Regulatory changes
Client expectations
Industry best practice
Internal learnings and operational experience
Regular audits, inspections, training, and reviews help keep our team aligned and our work consistent.
6. Communication
We encourage open and honest communication across all levels of the business. Safety and compliance rely on people feeling supported to:
Speak up
